Eaton Jones Cooley married Elizabeth Funk in Waverly, Humphreys County, TN.They had 9 children:William James Cooley, Daniel W. Cooley, James Washington Cooley (died 10/4/1892), Henry Cooley, Eaton Morrow Cooley (b 11/28/1830 d 7/1/1917 married Sarah Elizabeth Waggoner (b 12/6/1836 d 6/10/1914), Caroline Cooley, Mary Cooley Margarite Cooley, and Charlotte Cooley (b 1822 d: 1/14/1864)who married Robert L. Latimer (b 1/4/1818 d: 10/1856).Charlotte & Robert had 8 children: Eaton Jacob Latimer (b 1842 d: 1865), James K. Latimer (b 1844 d 1865), Charlotte L. Latimer (b 4/16/1856 d 5/8/1932), Martha A. Latimer (b 1846 d unknown), Sarah E. Francis Latimer (b 1855 d 1890), Robert A. Latimer, Jr. (b 3/21/1851 d 2/8/1818), Mary Elizabeth Latimer (b 6/1840 d 11/20/1901), Margaret Agnes Latimer (b 2/27/1849 d unknown).Robert L. Latimer, Jr. was my great grandfather and he married Lucy Hopkins Massey.They migrated to Jackson County, Texas and had three children:William Dorsey Latimer (b 12/1/1877 d 3/1/1928 - no children), Artie Lillian Latimer (b 12/18/1889 d 10/6/1969), and Walter Lonzo Latimer (my grandfather) (b9/26/1881 d 7/4/1958).I have the bible Rev James Washington Cooley used -- he was a Methodist minister from Humphreys County, Tennessee -- moved to Victoria County, Texas and his "church" was the Texas Gulf Coast.Rev. Cooley married Mary Frances Davidson (d 8/27/1880 - daughter of George W. and Mary Davidson)and they had five children:Mary Elisabeth Cooley (b 7/19/1860 d 2/31/1960), William Greene Cooley (b 11/16/1861 d 6/11/1862), Frances Caroline Cooley (b 3/7/1863 d 2/28/1962), James Washington Cooley, Jr. (b 11/9/1865 d 11/19/1865), and Ella Marvin Cooley (b 4/18/1868 d 2/29/1948).The three girls, Mary Elisabeth, Frances Caroline, and Ella Marvin, never married.I have a little more information.If you wish more information, please email me at let me know.I found a website on the Cooley Family Cemetery in Humphreys County, Tennessee, and it is maintained by someone (I didn't get the name) and she knows who has the family bible -- I believe there is a copy of the first page on the website.You may want to try there.
