Emma,

Sometime ago I did some work on Catherine COOKSON trying to find out more of her husbands family, and I bought their marriage certificate, which shows:

Thomas Henry COOKSON, aged 27, secondary schoolmaster, son of Thomas James COOKSON (decd), verger, married Catherine Ann DAVIES otherwise McMULLEN on 1 Jun 1940 at St Mary Star of the Sea, Hastings.

I think that he was probably the Thomas H COOkSON, birth cert Durham 10a 878 Dec 1913, whose mother's maiden name was BLEZARD - which could explain why Catherine COOKSON moved to Newcastle area. However, I am still confused about his parentage.

Regards,

Ed in Cumbria/UK
