Our information on McPherson Tucker and Amanda Moody and their ancestors came from my great-great aunt Eula Moody Starke, who was Amanda's sister. I don't have the Bible it was all in, but the info was copied from a family Bible. We don't have any more information about Joseph Tarpley Tucker or his parents, though I've been able to find out a little about the Cookseys. Turns out that Flora McPherson Cooksey was actually a McCall by birth. She was adopted by her stepfather Randall McPherson.

I was never able to get copies of the birth certificates or marriage certificates (I had a cousin in Alabama who was going to get them for me and it never came through, so I guess I'll have to send for them myself!).

It was only recently that we realized that Tarpley Tucker's first name was Joseph. In the family he was always known as Tarpley. I came across a reference to Joseph Tarpley Tucker somewhere and realized it had to be the same man. So actually I am just as lost on Tarpley's parents as you are. All I have is the names, and that James Tucker may have been born around 1800, but I don't know where.

Do you have names and dates for the other siblings of W.A.L Tucker and McPherson Tucker? Aunt Eula wasn't real meticulous with dates if it wasn't our direct line, it seems. I have names of other Tucker kids: James Madison Hill, Martha, Washington, and Nathan.

Maybe one of us will stumble across something interesting! I sure hope so!

Jane
