Fran, The John C. Cooksey in this thread is a resident of Gonzales/Lampasas Co. Tx, not of Missouri. Yes, Wilson, had a son, John, but he is not the subject of this thread. See previous posts. (BTW, if Wilson lived in Tenn., as you seem to feel, that would also be news.) I have researched Cookseys in Tn. for years and haven't found him. When you use LDS materials, the first order of the day is to take them with a grain of salt. There is nothing about LDS materials which offer anything of genealogical documentation, UNLESS they are sourced to a public record document. Deeds, wills, land records, court records, etc.Use LDS sources only as a guide. THEN...go to the ORIGINAL source document, and get ORIGINAL copies. Do not assume or take anybody's word for anything! Even your dear old Grandmother! Stick with Genealogy. Use LDS materials as only a general clue for a place to start looking. Mel Cooksey Cooksey Family Historian
