Hi Margaret,
I only have listed a Chester David Cooksey b ca 1880 is this the same as David Mott Cooksey ???? I have Decatur Cooksey as a son of John and his first wife Elizabeth Ann Curry. In the 1850 Loudoun Co.,Census there are two children listed a Lewis Cooksey and a Susan Cooksey, Susan Cooksey, later marries a Flaherty. I only have three children listed for John's first marriage-
Decatur Cooksey
Susan Cooksey
Obediah Curry Cooksey, his mother died giving birth to him and then John married Betsy's sister Susan Curry. I do believe that Curry is prbly Obediah's middle name.
My Simpson Cooksey, had by his 1st marriage to Mary Fairfax:
Alexander Fairfax Cooksey, my line
Virginia Cooksey
Mary Ellen Cooksey, Jane Ratterman's line
James W Cooksey
By his 2nd marriage to Sarah Ann Diane Johns, Sarah's father's name was Elias Johns.

Obediah Elias Cooksey
George W Cooksey
I am interested in the Haines line that intermarried with John Cooksey's line as I have a Haynes in my direct line and there just might be another connection.
The only two Cookseys' I have found to stay behind in Loudoun Co.,Va., are John and William Cooksey. The rest of our family moved to Morgan and Union Co.,Ohio.
