My Sarah COOKSEY, b. c1811 TN; d. c1882 Izard AR; + August 1831 Wilson TN to Lorenzo D. DOUGHTY
has remained a mystery for more than 15 years to all researching this line. Although my
COOKSEY-DOUGHTY line remained in WILSON-SMITH Co. area after their marriage until about 1850,
when they removed to WARREN CO. TN., we have been unable to document a connection between Sarah
and any of the middle-Tennessee COOKSEY families.
Have you, in your thirty years of COOKSEY research, researched the COOKSEY families of middle-TN?
If so, have your run across a Sarah COOKSEY, who married Lorenzo D. DOUGHTY, s/o of Robert DOUGHTY?
Sarah [COOKSEY] and her husband, Lorenzo D. DOUGHTY, left Warren Co. TN, about 1769-1770, for Izard
Co. AR., where Sarah died c1882; Lorenzo died c1885.
Any information will be gratefully appreciated, and I will gladly share what I have.
