Nathan,

It looks like all signs are pointing the fact that your Homer was the son of Marshall Melvin Cooksey and Mary Hartupee. Marshall was the son of Laban Cooksey and Rhoda A. Ogle (according to his death certificate). Although the 1860 census record lists Catherine as the mother of the family.

Some of Homer's siblings were Orville, George, and Kelly. Some of William's siblings are Martha, William, Uriah, & James. There are birth records, and marriage records for some of them (although the birth records will look more like indexes).

Interesting that you have the same YDNA as this line, which can be tested through such companies as www.familytreedna.com. Hopefully, this gets you started. Let me know if you want me to point you in the right direction for the birth/marriage records.,
