Southampton Co., VA: 10 Oct. 1759. John Coxey [perhaps, Cooksey?] and wife Amy of Brunswick County, VA to Timothy Thorn [perhaps, Thorpe?]. 80 acres on the north side of the Maherin River adj. sd. Thorn, sd. Coxey, and sd. River (William Batts of Prince George County conveyed by will to sd. John Coney [Coxey]). Signed: John Coxey and Amy Coxey. Wit.: Henry Hill, Henry Applewaite, and John Rawlings.
Note: No will for a William Batts exists in Prince George Co., VA; however, some records are no longer extant. The William Batts mentioned might actually be the William "Batte" who left a will dated 9 Dec. 1754 in Prince George Co., VA. Said will recorded in Record Book 1750-1755, Page 545. Probated: 11 Jan. 1755. Said will is no longer extant, but a partial abstract exists. No mention of a Coxey/Cocksey is included in the abstact.
