Hi Jane and All,

I wanted to let you know I found Enos Erwin, in the Post twp., Allamakee Co., Iowa Census-for 1870-1880.

But it looks like Virginia Cooksey Erwin, has died, it looks like this:

1870 Post twp.,Allamakee Co.,Iowa
Enos Erwin 35 Male White Farmer 1600 997 Ohio
Benette Erwin 18 Female White KH Ohio
Lora Erwin 10 Female White AT HOME Iowa
Frank Erwin 09 Male White Ditto Iowa

1880 Postville twp., Alamakee Co.,Iowa
Tildeu Street Houses not numbered.

205\210 Enos Erwin 46 W M Laborer Oh Oh Oh
Janette Erwin 28 F Wife Oh Oh Oh
George Erwin 6 M Son IA Oh Oh
Maurie Erwin 2 F Dau IA Oh Oh

I would say that Virginia (Cooksey) Erwin, must have died sometime in the 1860's now I need to look for a death index for her.
Virginia and Enos had married in a double ceremony with Alexander and Lousia Erwin in 1855 Union Co., Ohio. I have been trying to find them for along time.

Given the sons name Frank and my Cooksey's line's interest in naming children FRANCIS Marion. As in Alexander's and Mary Ellen (Cooksey) Murphy's line. That Enos and Virginia (Cooksey) Erwin, did the same thing with their eldest son.

Laree'
