My Cooksey's came from this area also. My 3g grandfather is George Carroll Washing Cooksey b. 1806 in SC. There are some of these names listed in their families. He had a son named after him. I did find a Mrs. Cooksey age 91 in the Kemper Co. census of 1850. A family member has his father as Seame. There is a void between my 3g grandfather and Ann(e) Seams in the data banks. This could have been his grandmother. We have nothing about his father, mother, or syblings. We would be greatful to anyone who can help us.
Toni
