Vincent Cooksey, Vincent Henry's father, is the son of Shadrack Cooksey. He was born ca.1790, probably in Halifax, Co. Va. These
Cooksey's are from "Samuel's" line...not related,(closely) to Zachariah. Zachariah is closely associated with the Shenandoah Co., Va/Greenville and Edgefield Co. SC/ Warren and Smith Co, TN Cookseys. The older Zachariah Cooksey may provide one of the strongest clues in determining Cooksey family associations, at a later date. He is the only Zachariah Cooksey of his time, and his movements are well documented. We can trace family associations well by him.
