Cookseys' of Dickson County, TN

Lindon Cooksey was considered by many to be an expert on the COOKSEY line - especially those of Dickson County. In William J. Nesbitt's draft of his book, THE PRIMAL FAMILIES OF THE YELLOW CREEK VALLEY, he states: "Lindon Cooksey has traced his family history back to Vincen(t) Cooksey, born 1713 in Virginia and lived in Prince William County. Among his sons was William Cooksey, born in Virginia in 1733. William Cooksey's third son was Andrew Cooksey Sr., born in Virginia in 1756. This Andrew Cooksey subsequently moved to North Carolina where his second son, Andrew Jr., was born in the Hillsborough District of North Carolina circa 1780."

I have seen other accounts where this Andrew Cooksey Sr's father and grandfather have not been mentioned (or even known) and researchers were still trying to pin these folks down ... I personally never met Lindon before he passed away ... Did he know something that the rest of us have yet to discover ??
