To Fred Hailer..I checked my records and find the following: Zachariah Cooksey served in the Va. Militia and I do not know who he is. I suspect he is the son of Abednego Cooksey and Elzabeth Corum. Abednego was the son of William Cooksey and Barbara Blackell of Charles Co Md. Abednego was in the 1790 Caswell Co NC Census. Caswell co is a border Co. to Halifax and Pittsylvania Co. Va.
Go to the Int. Genealogical Index at LDS Verson 4.02 Holding File entries you will find: Isaac Cooksey born 1828..his father was Zachariah and his Mother was Mary Case. Information File # 2078173 and 1903701..this family was in Franklin, Ind. They may have more Information. Thomas Cooksey also went to Fraklin, Ind...He was the son of John the Baptist Cooksey. I wish Ihad more information..JL Cooksey
