Thank you so much for the reply. Some time back I corresponded with Harold Graham. he sent me some excerpts from the Pinckney Baptist Church minutes. The entry stated that Henry Gill died in the war in 1862. No further information. I have been unable to find if he was killed in battle or died of sickness.
John T. Gill was a brother to my grandfather, Robert G. Gill. I found my grandfather in the household of J.R. Cooksey on the 1880 census records. I know that he left Ms. and went to La. married my grandmother, only made one trip back to Newton co. in 1928. I have not found Susan on the census records or do I know if she remarried. I was told by Perry Gill that she lived until the mid 1920's, that she may have been buried in the Sulphur Springs cemetery. he also thought Henry may have been buried at the Pinckney cemetery, however, he never mentioned that he died in the war. Another brother, James William Gill married a Leach. no further information on him. a sister Mary Gill married a Bright.
If you can shed any light on this family I appreciate it especially about Susan or Henry. I went to Clinton to Ms. State University at the Baptist Historical Commission and found just a bit of Henry;s pastorial. He also served the Chunkey church and Poplar Springs.

Thanks Pat
