Hi Wendy,

Your Thomas sounds very like the Thomas Cookman in Pat Tuffin's tree on Ancestry.com. There are several Thomases in the Cookman family, but the one I was thinking of was born in Sutton Waldron January 1794 (not Fontmel Magna 1795). However he married a Mary Rep and became a carter in Tarrant Launceston. He IS my James's brother.
