Cooke AKA Brenton?
I have been researching my Cook/Cooke line for years and long ago hit a brick wall with Cornelius Cook my 6thgreatgrandfather,he just came out of nowhere in the Westborough, MA areaand married Eunice Forbush in 1727. From there on down I pretty much know my genealogy , but what stumps me is the fact that no one knows wherehe was before that time. I'm grasping at straws now I guess. I thought perhaps somewhere in the past he may have had a different name. So because there were several Ebenezers in my line, I startrd checking and on one website there was an Ebenezer Cooke in the late 1600s who MAY have also used the surname Brenton. Does anyone out there know why that would be? If any one has the slighrst clue please e-mail me. Thank you.
