From all indications, John Cook(e) migrated from Amelia to Pittsylvania Co in the middle 1750's, and that Shem was a brother. While Shem, Sr. may have gone to NC, Shem, Jr. was given land in Pittsylvania, later Henry and FranklinCo. I have descendancy on Benjamin, John's son
