He does not seem to have resided in Armagh during his tenure of the deanery.
He was twice married.His 2nd wife was Cassandra Cooke,
(4th dau. of John Cooke, of Cookesboro’, Co. Westmeath, marriage lic. dated 11 July 1715,
and Elizabeth Forster, dau of Col. Foster (Forster) of Pimlico, near Dublin, Ireland, and sister of Bishop Nicholas Foster (Forster) of Raphoe.Elizabeth Forster was also sister of Jane Forster, wife of Robert Adair of Hollybrook, co. Wicklow, Ireland and of Dublin).
Robert Adair was son of Charles Adair and Elinor Cooke of Cookesborough.
Richard Daniel and Cassandra Cooke’s eldest dau,
Anne Daniel bapt. 1719, d. 24 Mar 1740,
m. 10 March 1738,as his first wife, CLOTWORTHY, 5th Visc. and 1st Earl of Massereene.
Another daughter Elizabeth m. Simon Diby, M.P. 1749 and d. 21 Jan 1755.
Another was the first wife of the unfortunate John McNaghten (see U.J.A. VIII, 134).

On 26 Feb 1629 the Crown granted the advowson of the church to Sir Andrew Stewart,
afterwards Lord Castlestewart (but he seems to have had it in 1614).
It was conveyed on 7 Nov 1672 to William Houston of Craigs, co Antrim and his heirs.
A silver paten inscribed : “This Cover was given to the use of the Church at Castle Stewart by Tho. Tilson, Esq.Anno 1702”
Was the John Houston of Castle Stewart who m.1665 Jane Cooke
a brother of above William Houston.In 1672 William Houston purchased part of Castle Stewart estate.
