Kate, I am descended from John Cousens and Catherine McCutcheon. One of John's brothers was Richard b. abt. 1805 in County Down, Ireland. Richard and his descendants used Cousins rather than Cousens. A manuscript of our family history by Cathy and Arthur Cousins has a page of burials for this line of the family. All of the burials are in Calumet Cemetery, which is listed as near Grenville. My query is three part. 1. I can find nothing about a Calumet Cemetery in or near Grenville. I am wondering if you know whether or not that cemetery goes by another name or have any information that would help me locate it. 2. I am looking for information about a Thomas Richard or Richard Thomas Cousins b. 1869-1870. He was married to Elizabeth Marshall. They are buried in Calumet Cemetery, along with their son, his wife, their daughter, her husband and her daughter. I assume that as they are listed with all of the Cousins on the page that they fit into the line of Richard Cousins b. abt. 1805 in County Down, Ireland, but cannot place them. 3. Richard b. abt. 1805 had a son named Thomas who married a Catherine Cousins. Catherine was the daughter of Andrew Cousins b. abt. 1797 in Antrim, Ireland. Andrew was married to Elizabeth Morrow. Do you know who Andrew's parents were? Since these two lines of the Cousins family were in the Grenville area, it is very possible that if we can get back another generation or two, we would find that they are somehow related. Otherwise, it's quite a coincidence that both Cousins families wound up in Grenville. Any help that you could give me in sorting any of this out would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Mary Notify Administrator about this message?
