Lydia Cook was my great...grandmother, grandfather Gabriel Hutchings. Lydia's (d 1831 Ind) father was Abel Cook (no info, reported to be a Rev. Vet.) Her children by Gabriel b 1/8/1758 Essex Co. NJ d 10/31/1831 Fayette Co. Ind. m 4/1792, were William b 1794 d 1803 m 1/9/1817 to Jane McCain; Samuel b 1/6/1803 d 1849; Hannah M 7/2/1811 James/William Perine; Rachel; Lois b 12/6/1793 d 8/14/1861 m Jacob Payton 1808 Butler Co. Ohio br. Union Cem Muncie, Ind, and Jane m. 9/19/1816 Joseph/Henry Mulkins. Lydia and Gabriel moved to Fayette Co. Ind. I am a descendant of Lois Hutchings and Jacob Payton who was a 1812 Vet along with his brother William. William's family eventually went to the Dakotas and into Canada. Jacob's family went west into Il, IA, and KS.

I am interested in Jacob Payton's birthplace (Paris?, Bourbon or Lexington Co.KY?,1787?) and siblings and parents names. His father was possibly a rev vet also.

I obtained this info from DAR survivor records on Gabriel Hutchings-Rev War Vet.
