Cookes of Nova Scotia

I too am looking for a Nova Scotia Cooke family. My great-grandmother was Anna E. COOKE, born Sydney Mines, Cape Breton on 9 November, 1856. Married Charles Thomas THORNEYCROFT in 1879, Halifax, Nova Scotia. Died in childbirth or shortly thereafter, c. 1880. She had a brother named Jim COOKE who was living in Sydney Mines in the 1920s. I would appreciate any information.

I was told that a number of the Nova Scotia COOKEs were descendants of the Mayflower COOKE family. Has anyone traced any of this?

Cheers,

Brenda
