What else do you know about your Henry Cooke? While I do not know of any Francis Cooke connection, I do have Abraham Cooke/Cook, born abt 1715, and lived in the Southampton, LI, NY, area. He married Sybil Burnet on Oct 3, 1740, in Southampton. They may have lived in New York City, but later moved to Morris County, NJ. One of their children was Stephen Cook. I have been told that Abraham Cooke was most likely the son of Henry Cooke, and Henry was also the son of a Henry Cooke. They said this was listed in "Moore's Index", but I have not been able to locate the book. The father of Abraham Cooke, Henry is said to have left land in Southampton to son, Abraham Cooke, but Henry lived elsewhere himself. I assume they mean Mass, Maine, VT, NH, or somehere north of NY. Some think Abraham was a descendant of Ellis Cook of Mass and Southampton, NY, but I have not found proof of this either.
