Recommend that you do a followup to your own email and put some dates in your query, i.e. date of death of grandfather and/or approx life span, son/daughter's name, etc. Then perhaps a live family member might help you.
I got a hit for a Lydia Cooke Middleton in Family Treemaker's "The Encyclopedia of Quaker Genealogy" and wonder if any of the Cookes married a Middleton. The Middletons may have been from MD. I couldn't actually see the reference, just an ad to join FTM.
