HALBERT/COOK(e) CONFUSION

I would love too have help. I have been going over many sites on the John Cooke who was born 1654 - 1727, who was married to Susanna Pell. Many dates are different. They have him, many a time the son of Mordecai Cook II and Frances Ironmonger. This doesn't wash--for one Frances is to be born in all sites born abt. 1645 and Mordecai born 1649. This is impossible for the adding machine don't comput. Mordecai would have been 5 years old, and France 9years old;John was to be their 2nd child, for Mordecai III was 1st. So, all these sites has to be wrong.
He can't be Frances Cooke's son for he married a Sarah Warren, and their child are recorded being they were on the Mayflower's first at Plymonth. So, who is John Cook(e)'s real Daddy? Please stand up.
Now, I know that John and Susanna Pell had 6 children--Anna abt 1680, Hannah, Thomas, William 1686, John 1688, and Mary 1690.
Anna married a David Jerkins abt. 1700(no child) he died and then married Jeremiah Biswell before Jan. 10,1706/7; they had children one a Mary Biswell, who was Joel Halbert's 1st wife and had Sarah, and Mary Halbert after she died he married France Randolph Jones--Rebecca and John Rolfe's line.
Here is the chincher--William Halbert was married, I believe, to a Williams, who passed before he married in 1709 Mary Cook Wood 1690, of John and Susanna Cooke--Anna's little sister. They settled Thomas Wood's estate and then had Joel Halbert and several other children. Mary did have a daughter off Wood's. After William Halbert died she married William Taylor, who helped her settle her estate. She has a will stating her children's names.
There is the mix of Halberts and Cooke. BUT WHO IS JOHN COOKE'S REAL PARENTS. For I know it ISN'T MORDICAI COOKE. He may not be off of Frances Cook's son John, but that doesn't mean he isn't off of Frances Cook's line, for every one of his brothers' has Johns. And do they have many IN Eng., Ireland, and Holland.
