This is the Pontus "Polsom" Cook found in a different message. Pålsson means son of Pål. This Pål could have had any last name, and probably it was a patronymic (son/daughter) name because those were the majority at that time period in Sweden. Many of our Swedes left Sweden with a patronymic name and only later adopted a surname such as Cook. Polsom must have been a misreading or mishearing of Pålsson.
