I'm looking for the family of Jacob Cook, a minister who first appears in the Botetourt Co. records as performing marriages in the 1795-99 period. He had at least 2 sons, Charles & Jacob, Jr. Charles was born in York, Pa. on Jul. 16, 1786, m. Lydia St. Clair, dau. of George St. Clair on Jan. 17, 1822, & died Mar. 22, 1877 in Bonsack, Roanoke Co. Jacob Jr. m. Nancy (Mary?) Noftzinger, dau. of Jacob Noftzinger on Sep. (Aug.?) 21, 1805. Jacob may have had other children, namely: George m. Rachel Bilbo, dau. of William Bilbo, Mar. 1, 1817; Jeremiah m. Elizabeth Beckner, dau. of Abraham Beckner, Aug. 31, 1820; John m. Elizabeth Moyers, dau. of George Moyers, May 12, 1818; Joseph m. Elizabeth Lemmon, dau. of George Lemmon, Jun. 10, 1815; Moses m. Sally N. McClanahan, dau. of William McClanahan, May 30, 1810; William m. Hanah Bell, dau. of William Bell, Apr. 18, 1820; Zacariah m. Barbara Lemmon, dau. of George Lemmon, Dec. 7, 1821; Elizabeth m. John Fluke on May 14, 1827; & Sarah m. Randolph Abshire on Feb. 24, 1817. All of these marriages took place in Botetourt Co. As yet I have been unable to prove any of these links. Any information on the family would be greatly appreciated.
