Cook, Morton S. Obituary 1907 -Tomah Journal
"Morton S. Cook was born in N.Y. State March 1,1825, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Geo. Miller , in this city June 5,1907 aged 82 yeas 3 months and 1 day.He was united in marriage is Miss Elizabeth Marsdon of New York state in the Spring of 1848. The family consisted of six children, four of whom survive, viz: Mrs Esther Tant of Chicago; Mrs. George Weston of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Morton Cook of West Union, Iowa, and Mrs. George Miller of this city. Mr. Cook was veteran of the Civil War and was appointedsergeant in Co. C. 29th Regt.Wis. Vol. Inf. He enlisted September 27, 1862, and was mustered out June 22, 1865.
The funeral was held at he home of his daughter, Mrs. Miller, last Friday morning. Rev. Wm Atkinson officiating. The music was renderedby Mesdames Fred and Justin Brossett, Messrs, I.N. Palmer and J.E. Berry. The interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery." (Tomah,Wisconsin)
