Thanks so much for writing back.That's an interesting story about Green and William.I wonder if it's really true?
I have Granberry Cook listed in Sabine parish in 1850 with his wife, Frances.He's 43, she's 40.He's from Iowa?She's from NC.Green is 9 on this census.How do you spell his next sibling's name . . . it looks like Shedriah.
William, I have no birthdate for him, just death in 1829.Married to Temperance Morris.They had 9 children.
I'm descended from their son James, born in 1812.
They came from all over the place, didn't they?I have Green Cook, born about 1780 in SC.Married to Nancy.They seemed to be pretty well off.
William was possibly born in Georgia.
Have you visited old cemeteries in Louisiana looking for ancestors?My family came from east Texas, so I have visited Sabine parish.Lots of my other ancestors came from Louisiana too.
