Now when we compare these (1830) to the 1840 Belmont Co., again the oldest are 2 adults, male & female, between 40-50 which are probablythe parents, but only one son in the group years 20 to 30 because Thomas was married in Feb.of 1840 in Henry Co. Indiana. There are 2 girls still at home between 15-20 years, (Eleanor was married the next year after the census was taken, in 1841). So it seems all the family as counted in 1830 surived until 1840. In addition the 1840 census lists three boys between 5 and 10 and a little girl under five. That totals 11 children. In 1850 I don't find any of them by names we knew in the census-no Ellis Cook at all in Belmont Co.In Hinshaw he is said to have gone to Plymouth MM in Jefferson Co. Ohio.
Lona Contreras did not know that Ellis Cook name was misspelled (Elias Cook 59 (@ 1791) PA farmer).
In 1880 cesus Thomas Cook 66 OH farmer father b-PA & mother b-MDwife Martha (Unthank) 58 NC f-b-NC m-b-NC and Jeremiah brother to Thomas (as Martha has no brother Jeremiah) Jeremiah 58 b-OHfather b-PA mother b-PA. So that says that Thomas and Jeremiah have different mothers. Thomas mother is Elizabeth unknown and Jeremiah's mother is Elizabeth Taylor. Elizabeth Taylor is not in the 1850 census as she must of died before 1850 as in 1860 census Ellis Cook is 69 PA farmer (@ 1791) Elizabeth 53 VT (@1807)as Betsy Brown (Betsy short for Elizabeth) and Ellis Cook married 4-22-1852 after the 1850 census.
