I am looking for brothers and sisters of my great grandfather James Coogan, who came from County Carlow, probably during and after the potato famine. Their names are:
Matthew, Patrick, Hugh, Dennis, and William (James, of course too). Also Mary (Sexton), Bridgit (Meany) and Margaret (Doyle)and Honor. Catherine died soon after arriving. All but James stayed in the NY area. James came to IL in 1854. Parents: Matthew and Kitty Nolan. M buried in Ballinkillin Cemetery, Co. Carlow. Kitty buried in Calvary Cemetery, NYC.
I have heard from John Coogan/FL, descendent of William. All information is appreciated. thanks, Jim, for this wonderful website.
