You know, I wonder if Edward is a second name for one of James' brother, who was my g-grandfather. (James Coogan m. Jane McMahon in 1857). He worked on the IL Central RR, boarded with McMahon who was now a widow of Thomas Townsend, a Brit. Townsend died in 1954 before their baby was born. James married her in 1957. etc., etc., etc.
