From the New York Times of 22 January 1918:
Died.
On Monday, Jan. 21, 1918, Matthew Coogan, beloved husband of Teresa and father of the Rev. John J. Coogan, Police Chaplain.Funeral Thursday, Jan. 24, at 10 o'clock from his late residence, 2428 Frisby Av., Westchester, Bronx.Solemn requiem mass St. Raymond's Church.Interment Calvary.Automobile cortege.
I would appreciate hearing from descendants of Mathew's son Joseph Coogan, who was mentioned as living at the same address, 2428 Frisby Avenue, in the 26 August 1924 obituary that the NY Times published for Chaplain John J. Coogan, Joseph's brother. It is also possible that one of Matthew's daughters or other sons, perhaps James (1883-?) or Charles Stephen (sometimes listed as Charles A.) had descendants. Please send any info.Thanks.
