Edward Coogan, born May 6, 1821 at Dublin, Ireland; came to USA 1854; came to Washington about 1857; was a machinist; died of erisypelas January 25, 1877 at 425 H Street, NW Washington, D.C.; buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Washington, DC [Section 12-F] []=>married before 1844 in England Anne Potts, born 1820 in Ireland; in 1900 was living with her daughter Sophie Miller at 815 C St. SE; died of hypostatic congestion of the lungs November 14, 1907 at 1408 V St. NW, Washington, D.C.; buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Washngton, DC Children z1. Margaret Mary Cogan, born about 1844 in England; died February 26, 1920 at New York City, buried at the Cemetery of the Evergreens, Brooklyn, NY (but without a stone) (just prior to her death was recorded in the 1920 census as living with her daughter and son-in-law Jennie & Charles Jewell, at 1020 Woodhaven Avenue, Queens, NY) []=>married 1860 (licence dated August 21) at Washington, DC William Henry Robinson, born April 5, 1836 in (possibly Liverpool) England; died December 1, 1910 at 411 Chauncey Street, Brooklyn, N.Y., buried December 3, 1910 at Cemetery of the Ever-greens, Brooklyn, N.Y. [These were my great-great-grandparents] z2. Sophie Cogan, born 1848 at Dublin, Ireland; died May 10, 1911 at Washington, D.C. []=>married Howard Miller, born 1838; died June 15, 1911 at Washington, D.C. z3. Mary Catherine Cogan, born September 1852 at Baltimore, Maryland; moved to Washington after her husband's death; died June 6, 1915 at Washington, D.C.; buried June 8, 1915 in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Washington, D.C. [Sec. 12F] []=>April 11, 1887 St. Patrick's Cathedral Church, Washington, DC Dr. John Joseph Wilson, born July 16, 1854 at Boston, Massachusetts; died February 20, 1905 at Bristol, Connecticut z4. Annie Maria Cogan, born June 11, 1854 at Washington, DC; worked for about 54 years at the Bureau of Engraving & Printing, and retired with a pension of $45 per month; died July 1, 1946; buried July 4, 1946 in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Washington, D.C. z5. Thomas Cogan, born February 28, 1857 at Washington, D.C.; he was a machinist in the Washington Navy Yard; died September 12, 1935 at Washington, D.C. []=>1884 Ella Julia Relyea, born May 12, 1868 at Charleston, South Carolina; died March 14, 1923 at Washington, D.C. (by 1910 they had 13 children, of whom 9 were living) z6.
