I.ve been researching the COODY family for some 10+ yers and currently have over 15,000 descendants and spouse data back to ARTHUR ARCHIBALD COODY (1740-1782). Also have much information on earlier families believed to be ancestors (COODY, COODE, COOTE) back to early 1300's. Feel that the link is close, but need to do additional research and comfirmation of some information.

I have been colaborating with others that are also researching the COODY family, from Georgia, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and California. We freely share information, and frequently contribute to the "Coody Family News", a quarterly newsletter published in Texas.

Searching my database I found no FISHER or FOLGER, but you and yours will be new to my data. Could you please provide me with Family Group Sheets on your Mary Coody and all of her descendants.

There are 49 Mary Coody's in my database, and two are good posibilities:
1. Mary Elizabeth Coody, b. 30 Oct 1846, Sumter County AL.
f. Benjamin Samual Coody
m. Susan Elizabeth Turner
I have no marriage or other information on Mary, except that she appered in the 1850 Census in Union County, AR with her parents. They later moved to Texas, and settled in Hill County, Tx. (Benjamin Samual is my g.g.grandfather.) (Choctaw County, AL was at one time a part of Sumter County)

2. Mary Ann Coody, b. abt 1843, Sumter County, AL.
f. William H. Coody
m. Mary Ann Asbury
No marriage or other information on Mary.
William is shown in the Pension files, Choctaw County, AL. Wife died in 1860 in Union County, AR. William later migrated to Hill County, TX.

Benjamin Samual and William H. were brothers: sons of Hiram L. Coody and Harriet F. Camp.

The only Mary Coody that I have born in 1840 with no other trace, was the daughter of Daniel Ross Coody, but they were in Cherokee Indian Terr., TN and migrated to OK as part of the Trail of Tears. She ws probably born in Fort Gibson, OK, and I have nothing to indicate being in Choctaw County nor Texas.

If I can be of further assistance please advise. Look forward to sharing information.

Sincerely,
Robert J. (Bob) Coody
