The following is in the book "Who Was Who Among the Southern Indians 16988 - 1908", ritten by Don Martini, on page 564:
ROGERS, JOHN, CAPT, a Cherokee, the son of Joh "Hellfire Jack" Rogers. He served as a lieutenent under Major James Brown in 1813 - 1814. In 1817 he moved west with his father. He was a signer of the 1828 treaty, ans a delegate to Washington in 1831, and again in 1834, and in 1833 was president of the Western Cherokee tribal council. He died in Washington on June, 1846.
Married to ELIZABETH COODY, they had the following children:
1 CYNTHIA ROGERS, married 1st to JOSEPH COKER, 2nd to JOHN CRUMP.
