The Coody Family Foundation was founded in 1996, and just last November 1, 1998 achieved its first mildstone... The erection of a monument at the gravesite of Hiram L Coody, (1789-1846) who was buried in the Coody Cemetery in Rosser, Sumter Co., Alabama. The gravesite had become 'unknown' for many years to his descendants, but was located and marked. He has 1,286 descendants in the 9 generations.
