I have a cousin in MD who has done extensive research on our branch of Conwell, including Yeates.Yeates was born in Cornwall Apr. 14, 1660.But his parents were colonists: Francis and Mary Yeates of VA.Yeates married Rebecca Fisher, dau. of Wm. and Edith Fisher.Yeates and Rebecca had 4 children, apparently: William, John, Elias and Hannah. My connection is through William Conwell.William had at least 2 children: Thomas and Yeates.Thomas married Elizabeth Claypool, and had William, who married Comfort Coulter and was a Capt. in the Revolution, along with Jehu and Joshua.William and Comfort had at least 9 kids, among whom was Thomas, the second child. The others were Elizabeth, Sarah, Ruth, Lydia, Comfort, William, Prettyman, and Joseph P.Thomas had John who married Elizabeth Davenportand wound up in Xenia, OH.They had several children: Richard, Catherine, Abraham Davenport, Stephen, Mary, Nellie and Margaret.Richard married Mary Anderson Grover and had 6 kids, including my Great Great Grandfather Samuel Davenport Conwell who moved to Kansas and died in Topeka. His son, Rufus established a farm nea Manhattan, Kansas, which was divided between his three sons, Creed Hastings, William St. Clair and Franklin Walter, my Grandfather. My mother still lives on the farm.
I don't know if this is of help, but I've always wondered if I had any long, lost cousins out there.
