Archibald Conway 1800???
I am desperately trying to trace my paternal roots. My great-grandfather, Archibald Conway, Conway-croome, Conway-Croom or, Conway-Croon; was said to have been sent to Ceylon during the 1800's (reason unknown). During which time he had met an Indian girl on a tea plantation in Ceylon. She conceived shortly after their meeting and although he promised to marry her, he went back home (I am not sure whether it is Scotland, Ireland or Britain); never to return. Her son was named Charles Conway, born in Ceylon, who was my paternal grandfather.
This is all the information I have with me at present. The only other information Ihave is that Archibald's father was an Archbishop or bishop during this time.
