Found the following on the IGI, you may have it by now.

From the looks of it her maiden name was Conway.
The above entry will get you her marriage cert which should have her birth details on it.
From that you will get her birth cert and that should have her parents details on it.
Have you questioned all your older relies as they may be able to tell you her birth date therefore giving you a short cut? Have you given your father/mother the third degree?
As she only died in 1940's, do you know where she was buried? You can get in touch with the cemetery and they can give you the details of her burial. That may turn up some info. Next of kin etc.
Do you know any of Eva's siblings names?
