I can't find the connection, but I'm pretty sure my John Gillman Conway is related some way. He married Eliza unk. and their first child was Viola Jane Conway, my great grandmother.
The 1880 census shows him as J.G. a miner in Pilot knob, Iron Co. MO. The 1870 census shows him a J. Gill. He went by the name Gil Conway and worked in the lead mines.
