Hi, I have a Mary Conway {Connoway} m.Patrick Flynn, Rutherglen, 1873. They later settled in the Kinning Park area. Mary's last known address in1901 census was McLean St, then her son Bernard{Benjamin}married later that year and his childtren were all born in Blackburn St. There were a lot of Irish immigrants and their descendants settled in the Kinning Park,Govan, Plantation area, but a great many came through the lanarkshire coal fields first. Mary's parents were James Connoway and Bridget Degnan. Mary's place of birth is Perthshire in the 1901 census. Ayrshire and Forfar in the '81 and'91. I feel her family moved about a lot!!!Theory- perhaps your family were not fostered to strangers but other members of family.
