Kevin;
From the book "Blue River TownshipHenry County, IndianaCemetery Inscriptions", which I got from the Henry County Historical Society, there is a James M Conway buried in "Conway/Kessinger Cemetery", but he died on September 30, 1843 at age 13 years, 6 months, 27 days, a son of Richard & Cynthia (Ray) Conway. Miles Sr. died September 22, 1883 at 89 years, 6 months, 18 days, wife Catherine, he was a veteran of the War of 1812.
Some of the Conways moved to Tipton County, Indiana. Sue Conway Clouser at [email protected] might be able to shed some light on the family members you are looking for. She was at the Wilbur Wright Birthplace about a year ago and is doing research on the family history.
Several of the Conways moved to the Greentown, Indiana area as well. I don't know any of these relatives, though they seem to be prominent in that community as when I mention that name to anyone I meet from Greentown, they all know the family.
Years ago, (probably the teens, 20s or 30s), they used to have Conway reunions which included these families. As today is my 60th birthday, I am too young to recall any of those reunions.
My closest source here on the Conway family is my Father's first cousin Helen Conway Butler of Mooreland. She is 88 years old and recently underwent surgery, but her mind and recollections are excellent. Her phone number is 765-766-5592. She might be able to help tie up some loose ends.
It is good to hear from you and I will look forward to hearing more from you.
Sincerely,
Dan Conway
