I, too, have Conways from Chicago in my family. I don't have the first name of the first ancestor I've found but here's the line:
Conway m Mary [Conway] who had immigrated from Galway, Ireland. Children:
Sara "Sally" Conway b 1890-1895, d abt 1961
Mary Ann Conway b 1892 - 1897, d abt 1966; married John Francis Maher bef. 1916
Theresa Conway b Aft. 1893,
Thomas Conway b Aft. 1894 d abt 1958; married Marie.

All of Chicago. Mary Ann Conway Maher moved to Atlanta late in life.
