Hello! Just doing a trawl through the net and found this site. Nicola was my grandfather. He married Anna Russo from Sansavero in the Apulia area of Italy. My Grandfather seems to have come from the same area.

My grandfather has one sister, I recall. She lived up the road from him - that is 203rd Street in the Bronx. I'm sorry I don't know her first name but to say, the family name "Conte" is like "Smith" in Apulia. So perhaps your antecedents went north.
