Pietro Conte was born and raised in Torello(?), Compobasso, Italy. He came to America with his wife, Albina DePlacito and a brother of her's, Nick. They also came with one of Pietro's brothers, Pasquale. One Pietro also had a brother named Nick, and it is believed he settled in Ontario. There is a Conte Family in New Jersey that I would like to get in touch with.
At the immigrations office at Ellis Island, the name Conte was changed to Condo. Pietro and Albina then proceeded to settle in Monongah, Marion Co., WVA. They had 8-10 children in the same house. My grandfather, their last living child, sold the house about two years ago. Albina and Pietro died 1938(?).
I know no more on the Conte family. Albina's parents were Dominic DePlacito and Philomena Camode.
If any of this rings a bell, please, let me know. I am at a loss on this branch of my family and am looking for any help I can get here. Thank you in advance.
