Tricia Nixon

Catarina and Antonio Caparelli's young daughter was Rosina Capparelli. Rose (Rosina) married Guiseppi Franco and had two sons, Louis and Anthony and one daughter, Phyllis (Broccolo)

Anthony and Lilyan Franco adopted me in Chicago in the fall of 1946. I didn't find out that I was adopted until one year ago. Oct 2007

When I was told of my adoption, I wrote to the Illinois dept. of Vital records and they affirmed that I was adopted. They also told me the ages of my birth parents.

I didn't handle it very well. I had recently found a family tree that had the Capparellis and many other relatives from Altomonte. My father, Tony Franco had only intoduced me to one member of his extended family during my life. Tony and Lilyan were divorced when I was 4 years old. I didn't see my dad until I was 14 years old. I jumped to the conclusion that because my dad introduced me to his cousin, and that cousin was the exact age of my birth father, that he was my real father.

I was wrong. I had my DNA tested and my birth father was not Italian. I wrote to Dorothy Conte and Richard Conte about my problem and they never answered me. I'm sorry I may have caused some discomfort in your "friends" family.
