Dear Mary, I am married to Walter Constantine from Buffalo, NY. His father was Walter (b. 1901 in Buffalo; d. 1991 Buffalo), grandfather was William Cornelius Constantine (b.1867 in Buffalo; d 1940 Buffalo), ggrandfather Patrick Henry Constantine (b 1832 Mumford, NY; d. 1916 Buffalo, NY), gggrandfather Denis or Dennis Constantine (b Durah, Co Clare; d 1861 Java Center, NY[south of Buffalo]; he was 69 in 1855 census). In the family bible the spelling of the name changes in the same educated hand throughout from Considine to Consadine to Constantine. I find Durha just north of Kilrush on the Co Clare maps. Is this close to the ones you have [I cannot find Lisdoonvarna on my map, which is not a very good one] and what are your dates. Ours seems to have left quite early to follow records in Ireland. I am hoping for a connection. Denis was married to Hannah or Honora Gilligan or Glynn, They had 6 children who I know of: Patrick Henry [above], William, Catherine, Dennis, Elizabeth, Ellen. William, Catherine and Dennis died young as noted by a monument in the graveyard in Java Center, NY. Elizabeth and Ellen seem to have survived-I know nothing more about them or if there were other children. Patrick Henry had 6 children, all of whom are documented in one document showing their baptisms signed by the priest controlling the register. If you are interested, I will give you that info, but enough may be enough. I will look forward to hearing from you
