Hi Jim
Thank you sooooo much for filling in that information. I'm still trying to sort out Bentons, but this might really help in my research. I'm using information that a Max Henrici put together back in the l930's. I have letters from him to a relative in Hollidaysburg Pa. There are bits and pieces in his info that don't fit, but this really solidifies the Eva Conser side of my information. He was looking for Consers, as well as Bentons and Irons.
I had no idea there were so many Consers in the area.
From Max's notes, John Benton, who was married to Eve or Eva Conser was a private in the war of l8l2. He was a wood cutter and charcoal burner at the iron furnaces in the Juniata Valley. He and Eva had the following children: Miles Benton, William Benton, Henry Benton, Sarah Benton (who married Max Henrici's grandfather, David Irons and Eleanor and Lucinda .
Miles Benton is my connection to all of this. I'm really at the beginning stages of all this - my sister did some of the research but no longer has the time, so I inherited all this information to sort through a few months ago. Every little piece of information is so helpful. Thank you again.
