Hi,
My grandfather (also John Conroy) had roots in Portlaoise. Do you know names of your father's parents or grandparents? If so, I may have records of them as I have trawled through Portlaoise records and must have recorded down at least 75% of Conroys born or married in this town since about 1845 to 1920. I haven't linked many of them up yet, but maybe I can help.
