Searching for place name of birth of Francis (Frank) Joseph Conroy. b. Oct. 27, 1845 in Ireland. My data shows "Co. Cork, but a search by a professional there produced nil results..."torn and tatterd pages". (Perhaps Cork was the port of embarkation.) m. Alice Burton in Ohio---2 children: William, Catherine. When Alice died married Anna Elliott ---5 children: Tom, Joe, Annabelle, Mary Elizabeth, Ella. (Tom worked at Marion Steam Shovel.) Lived in Canton for 25 years prior to moving to Marion. Lived in Marion 12 years before his death Oc. 23, 1923. One searcher found a reference to the same name as entering the port of Philadelphia in 1858, and a sunsequent naturlaizatin there, but I am not sure the reference is my Frank.
I was told that he worked for "the railroad" and built tracks in Paint Creek, W. Va. I would appreciate any connections. Thank you.
